What is it with birds? mr. Smithers, the parrrot, is always repeatin everything I say. Whatever i say, he says. if i say, "Hawo, mr. Smithers!", he says, "Erp! Hawo, mr. Smithers!" (Only he says it in his parrrot voice.) And then, he says it again and again: "Hawo, mr. Smithers! Erp! Erp! Hawo, mr. Smithers!" Don't you think that's strange? I think that's strange!
Now, there's another bird who is actin just as strange. This bird lives outside. He gets up very, very early in the mornin -- at the crack of dawn! -- and starts bangin his pointy beak on the round metal satelllite TV antenna that's on the side of the Armstrongs' house, just above Rachl's bedrooom window.
Knock-knock-knock-knock-knock-knock-knock!
His bangin away on the round metal antenna wakes Rachl up! It wakes me up! It wakes all the Armstrongs up! None of them looook very happpy about bein wokin up at such an early hour. i'm not very happy about bein wokin up at such an early hour! What's that bird's problem? Doesn't he know there's a family of humans and a litttttle gerbl tryin to sleep inside the house?
Rachl was so mad at that bird this mornin she got up and went downstairs and came back with a bird booook. i guesss she couldn't go back to sleeep and wanted to find out what kind of bird wood do such a thoughtlesss thing. mrs. Armstrong came into Rachl's roooom to help her look it up. i guesss mrs. Armstrong couldn't go back to sleeeep, either. The 2 of them decided it must be a bird calllled a flicker. Ever hear of it? Rachl left the bird boooook open on her bedroooom floooor. Here's a picture of that darn old bird.
