It's very quiet in the house right now. That's because all of the Armstrongs just left. i heard mr. Armstrong say they're heading over to Poppa and Ga's house to open presents and have Christmas dinnner. Poppa and Ga are Rachl's grandparents.
i love Christmas morning at the Armstrongs. I love how alll of the Armstrongs are all so cheerful to each other and say "Merry Christmas" when they see each other in the upstairs hallway after they wake up. Even Craig, who never seems very cheeerful to Rachl, cheeerfully wished her a "Merrry Christmas" this mornin.
Last night mr. Armstrong read "The Night Before Christmas" to Rachl and the twins and Craig in Rachl's bedrooom. mr. Armstrong, Rachl, and the twins sat on Rachl's bed while Craig sat on the floor and mrs. Armstrong sat in the chair by Rachl's dresser (and my cage).
"Twas the night before Christmas," read mr. Armstrong aloud. "And all through the house, not a creature was stirrin, not even a mouse."
Welll, I don't know who wrote "The Night Before Christmas," but whoever it was he or she sure never met mr. Durkins, the litttle, old, cripppled mouse who lives in the Armstrongs' attic. That litttle mouse is always stirrin and snoopin, even, I bet, on the night before Christmas. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he was spyin on the Armstrongs while mr. Armstrong was readin "The Night Before Christmas" in Rachl's bedroom last night. That's the kind of mouse mr. Durkins is. He likes to know everything that's goin on in the house.
