Mystery phooto

Rachl, Betsy and Susie (the humans Betsy and Susie, not the goldfish Betsy and Susie) and mrs. Armstrong all got in the Armstrongs' human mobile late yestrday mornin and drove offf somewhere.  i watched from Rachl's bedroooom window as mrs. Armstrong, who was behind the wheeel, backed the human mobile out of the Armstrongs' driveway and then drove offf.  (My cage is on Rachl's dressser, which is right beside Rachl's bedroooom window so i have a great view of the Armstrongs' driveway.) 

i had no idea where the 4 of them drove offf to but i do now.  That's because Rachl toook a phooto of where they went.  i found the phoooto in her kamera that she left on her desk this mornin.  (Rachl is out of her bedrooom right now, which is why i'm on her computer right now.) i was curious to seee the phootos Rachl toook while she was away at camp so i turned on her kamera.  i was loookin at all the camp phoootos when i came acrosss this phooto -- which was the very last phooto that was in her kamera.

Rachl, Betsy and Susie and mrs. Armstrong all went to the trumbull library in trumbull, konnecticut yestrday!  Seeee the phooto Rachl toook? 

 

Why would she take this phoooto, i wonder?  And who the heck is michael delaney?  is that who they went to go seee?  They wouldn't go to Trumbulll, konnecticutt to find out about succcesss in hidden job market, would they?  i could see mrs. Armstrong bein interested in somethin like that, but not Rachl! And definately not the twins!  Maybe they alll went to trumbull, konnecticut to take out books.  But why would they go there?  if they wanted to take out booooks, wouldn't they just go to the local New Kanaan, Konnecticut library?

Owls!!?? Why owls??

Since the twins, Betsy and Susie, didn't get to go with mrs. Armstrong and Rachl to the boook fair, mrs. Armstrong brought them back some reallly neat boooks from the booook fair.  (i'm talking about the human twins, Betsy and Susie, not the goldfish twins, Betsy and Susie -- although, come to think of it, they didn't get to go to the boook fair, either.)  mrs. Armstrong also brought them back this: 

Okay, don't get nervous.  it's not a real owl.  it's an owl that's painted on a dolll.  mrs. Armstrong and Rachl must've stoppped somewhere along the way and bought this.  This dolll fits into another dolll (which also has an owl painted on it) that fits into another dolll (which has an owl painted on it, tooo) that fits into another dolll (with another owl painted on it).  it's very confusin, all these dollls with owls painted on them that fit into other dollls.  What also confuses me is why would anyone want to paint an owl on a dollll?  i would've gone with a gerbl.   

i can't believe Rachl would do such a thing!!

Wellll, i found out where Rachl went with her kamera and her mother this past weeekend.  To a boooook fair!  Yes, she went to a booook fair -- without me!  i can't believe my own adopted mother would do such a thing!  Doesn't she know how much i love boooooks?  Actuallly, now that i think about it, i guesss she doesn't know.  i mean, how would she know?  Even Rachl doesn't know that i love to listen when mr. Armstrong reads boooks aloud to Rachl in her bedroooom before she goes to bed at night.  Anyway, here's a phoooto that Rachl took at the boook fair.  i found the picture in Rachl's kamera.

Here's another phooooto that i found in the kamera.  This phoooto has me reallly puzzzled.  Looook at what's on the table.   if i'm not mistaken, that's a Gerbil Mobile on the table! Why would a Gerbl Mobile be on this table?  it's very mysterious! 

This next phooooto i took.  it's a booook mark and a newspaper that Rachl brought back from the boook fair and droppped on her bedroooom floooor.  Seeee the picture of the whale?  i wonder why the booook fair showed a picture of a whale?  Were whales there?  if it was me, i would've shown a picture of a gerbl.

Nancy Drew

Rachl is a big fan of Nancy Drew computr games, too.  she gets very excited when a new one comes out.  She'll sit in her bedrooom for hours, playin the game on her computer.

To be honest, i'm not a big fan of them.  That's because the games have very eerie music.  The music plays over and over again while Rachl tries to help Nancy solve whatever mystery neeeds to be solved.  Since i'm in the same room as Rachl, i hear the eerie music, tooo.   i can't get that eeerie music out of my head.  it keeps me up at night.  while Rachl is in her bunkbed, sound asleep, i'm in my cage, wide awake, hearin that eeerie music in my head and wonderin what might be lurkin in the Armstrongs' dark house.

i'm always so glad when Rachl finishes a Nancy Drew computr game.

Harrry Pottter

Have i ever told you that Rachl is a big fan of Harry Potter?  She is!  Just loook at all the Harrry Pottter books she has on her bookshelf.

 

i'm also a big fan of Harry Potter.  mr. Armstrong has read all of the Harrry Potter boooks aloud to Rachl so i know what happens in each boook.  (mr. Armstrong reads to Rachl in her bedrooom each night before she goes to bed.)

To be honest, i'd be an even bigger fan of Harrry Potter, if J.K. Rowling had had a gerbil at Hogwarts, too.  Of course, the gerbl would be in Gryffindor!  how could she not be?  The sorting hat would know for sure that's where the gerbil belonged!

Obi the spy!

mr. Armstrong is readin a reallly goood book to Rachl each night before she goes to bed.  it's called "Harriet the Spy".  Have you read it?  If you haven't read it, you've definately got to read it!  Here's a photo i took of the book.  (Rachl left the boook on her bedrooom flooor.  mrs. Armstrong was walkin by Rachl's bedrooom and saw it on the flooor and came in and picked the boook up and put it on her desk -- but not before i toook a picture of it.)

Anyway, i've been thinkin.  In a way, i'm kind of like Harriet.  I mean, i know i'm not a human or anything and my name is Obi not Harrriet, but i am a girl gerbl and, with my kamera and all, i am sort of like a spy. 

Obi the spy!  I like how that sounds, don't you?

PS:  If you loook closely at this cover, you'll seee a squirrel.  i wonder if Harriet had to deal with a nuttty squirrel who was convinced she was a criminal the way that nuttty squirrel out in the Armstrongs' front yard thinks i'm a criminal?  mr. Armstrong has only a few chapters so i haven't heard enough of the boook yet to know. 

Boooks

well, I know what Rachl is givin the other Armstrongs for Christmas.  Boooks!  She was wrappin them this weekend.  She sat on her flooor with the bedrooom door closed, surrounded by a roll of wrappn paper, a tape dispenser, sissors, a plastic bag of green and red and gold colored ribbons, and all the paperback books she had bought.  I love books.  if i was givin Christmas presents, that's what I would give. At one point, Rachl took me out of my cage and let me crawl around in the crunched up wrappn paper that she was goin to throw away.  The wrappn paper was bright red and had little happpy snowmen on it.  i had so much fun crawlin around in that wrappin paper. If you've never crawled around in crunched up wrappin paper, you definately have got to try it.

Sure is cold today.  I can hear the wind rattlin the window panes.  The ground is covered with snow.  But the sky is blue and the sun is out and I heard mr.  Armstrong tell Rachl that the days are goin to start gettin longer now.  He says he finds knowin that the days are getting longer very hopeful.  Makes me hopeful, too.

Bedtime story

i'm readin the best boook.

Well, i'm not really readin it -- mr. Armstrong is.  he's readin it aloud to Rachl and me at bedtime.  well, he doesn't know he's readin it aloud to me.  He just thinks he's readin it aloud to Rachl.  he doesnt realize that i'm in my cage, listenin, while he sits in Rachl's comfy chair with Rachl beside him in her pjs, readin. 

Anyway, the story Mr. armstrong is readin is called "The Golems Eye."  It has a djinni in it named Bartimaeus.  This Bartimaeus can change into anythin and he has to do everythin that Nathanial, this kid who summoned him up, tells him to do. 

gosh, I could sure use a djinni like Bartimaeus.  i'd summon him up and tell him to take care of my cat problem.

Secrets

do you have any secrets?  i do!  I have 3 of them!  1 of them you already know -- I can esscape from my cage. 

here's another:  I can read!  okay, you're thinking, there's no way a gerbl can reead.  But I can!  honest!  I learnd it from mr. Armstrong.  He doesn't know that, though.   he reads books aloud to Rachl before she goes to bed at night.  The 2 of them snuggle up in a cozy chair that's right next to Rachl's dresser which is where my cage is.  So i can see the book that Mr. Armstrong is reading to Rachl.  I can follow the words as he reads them aloud.  Well, 1 thing led to another and before I knew it i could read -- which is also why i'm able to tyype this.

OMG! (whatever OMG! means), I just thought of somethin!  I have 4 secrets, not 3! I forgot I can also type!

Wait, I didn't tell you what my 3rd secret is yet!  It's the — OMG! Did you hear that?  I thought I heard somethin downstairs!  Gotta go!
