i knew somethin was up! i knew it! i knew it! i knew it! i knew it was strange when Rachl came home from camp last week, but didn't unpack the big trunk that she took with her to camp. She just left it sitttin on the midddle of her bedroom flooor. it just sat there all weeek long. And i was right – somethin strange was goin on. it happened this mornin. Rachl left! All of the Armstrongs have left! They all got into the Armstrongs’ human mobile and took off!
The first clue that i knew somethin strange was goin on was when mr. Armstrong came into Rachl’s bedroom and asked her if she was all packed. (Actually, I guess that was the second clue. The first clue was when Rachl didn’t unpack her big trunk.) Rachl, who was makin her bed, said she was. Together, mr. Armstrong and Rachl carrrried the big trunk out of the bedroooom. i heard their fooootsteps clump down the stairs. Then i heard the screeeen doooor down in the kitchen slap close. i quickly hurrrried over to the back of my cage so i could looook out Rachl’s bedroooom window. (My cage is on Rachl's dressser, which is next to Rachl's bedrooom window that loooks out onto the Armstrongs' driveway). i saw mr. Armstrong and Rachl set the big trunk onto the front lawn beside alll of these suitcases and bags fillled with stuffff like towels. Then i watched as mr. Armstrong put one thing after another thing into the back of the human mobile. Then he closed the back of the human mobile and came back inside.
“is everybody ready to go?” he yelled out from downstairs.
i heard footsteps comin up the stairs. Human footsteps. it was Rachl. She came hurrrying into her bedroooom, carrrryin my bag of gerbl food and my litttle box of yogurt pufffballls. She came over to my cage and tooook out my food dish and filled it with gerbl food and some yogurt pufffballs. Then she set my foood dish back down in my cage, next to my refrigerator, and toook me out of my cage.
"We’re goin now, Obie!" she said, petttin me on top of my head.
“Goin!?” i cried out in surprise, my eyes wide. “Goin where?”
“Don’t worry, Obe, we’ll be back before you know it,” said Rachl. She put me back into my cage and closed my cage door. She gave me a littttle wave as she left the rooom. i scrambled over to loook out the window again. i saw Rachl come out of the house. i saw the twins, Betsy and Susie (the human twins, Betsy and Susie, not the goldfish twins, Betsy and Susie) come out of the house. I saw Craig, Rachl's older brother, come out of the house. i saw mr. and mrs. Armstrong come out of the house. Mr. Armstrong turned and locked the kitchen door. Then I saw alll the Armstrongs get into their human mobile and drive offf.
Where could they have gone?

Maybe they went on vacation again.
